 About The WonderKey School

Founded in 1973 on the site of Sesame Day Camp, The WonderKey School has been dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education for over 50 years. As a private, independent school, WonderKey is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and accredited by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).

The WonderKey Learning Center proudly participates in the Keystone STARS Program, demonstrating our commitment to continuous quality improvement and excellence in early childhood education. We are also a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Child Care Agencies. At WonderKey, we are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and enriching environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive. WonderKey is an Equal Opportunity Provider.

The WonderKey School is committed to inspiring young children to find answers to their questions about the world. In a safe and nurturing environment, our goal is to encourage each student's positive self-image by focusing on personal, social and academic growth.

Curriculum Statement

At The WonderKey School we know that young children learn best through hands-on discovery in an environment that offers a variety of opportunities for child-directed exploration. Our curriculum,'cross-walked' with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards, is unique to The WonderKey School and has evolved over many years. The Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards guide us as we plan for developmentally appropriate activities for the children and families that we serve. Our goal is to capitalize on children’s interests and strengths while developing new skills and maximizing each child’s opportunities to learn. Individual, small group and large group experiences are offered in the key learning areas including; Learning Through Play, Early Literacy Foundations, Creative Thinking and Expression, Cognitive Thinking and General Knowledge, Scientific Thinking and Technology, Social Studies Thinking and Health, Wellness and Physical Development.

SESAME/ROCKWOOD CAMPS

 

Sesame/Rockwood Camps is a children’s summer recreational program, completed its first  season in 1954. Mermaid Lake Swim Club in Blue Bell, Montgomery County, was the initial site of the Day Camp. In 1962, Sesame Day Camp relocated to its present location at 1702 Yost Road, Blue Bell, Montgomery County. Sesame Day Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association.
